I was a bit skeptical about starting it but the soundtrack sounded nice and the cast was good so I gave it a try. Once I started it I could not stop watching it. In fact, it's been months since I marathoned a drama like I did with this one. However, I somehow think this will go on to be one of the lesser popular dramas irrespective of how good it was. I think it's definitely underrated and sadly it will not everyone's cup of tea. What I liked about the story was how it incorporated all K-drama cliches from years before and presented a nice, smooth story. The FEELS the drama gave me was immense. The main guy Ji Eun Ho has one of the purest loves ever in a kdrama. I loved how dedicated he was towards her and literally never thought of anyone apart from her, neither did he give up on their love. This is one of those dramas where you won't be sure whether it will be a happy end or a sad end. The story is kind of sad throughout and when I imagined a sad ending, I really thought it would be hell depressing. But the fun part here is you won't be sure how the leads will EVER manage to have a romance or a proper relationship with each other. Plus, there are a few mysteries which keep the story interesting. The drama is very much an old school kdrama with star-crossed lovers and a whole lot of scheming and manipulations. It was seriously so entertaining. The splendid chemistry between the leads only increased my awe for it and not lessen it in any way. The soundtrack is pretty good too. Like all kdramas ever, the last four episodes are sort of a drag and you might find yourself skipping some scenes. I liked the ending a lot. It fit in nicely with the story. I think I made a good decision watching it but I am not sure if I'll rewatch since I hardly ever do. Highly recommended if you like melodramas and pure love stories. Because of the interference of meddling foster parents who do nothing to help Eun Dong restore her memories, and because of an out of wedlock pregnancy, she marries the man who was her boyfriend before Eun Ho showed up in her life again, despite his disability; this young man named Jae Ho played in adulthood by actor Kim Tae Hoon from Operation Proposal was distressed at being broken up with as a young man in love and ends up crashing the car with both himself and Eun Dong inside. Paying for this act in the worst way possible short of death he becomes paralyzed from the waist down and she recovers but has no more memories of Hyun Soo / Eun Ho. How convenient. Eun Ho becomes a famous actor hoping that his fame will help him reach out to Eun Dong, wherever she may be. He wonders why she never contacts him and he knows nothing about the car accident or her amnesia or the fact that she is married. Perhaps she is already dead, he wonders to himself. Eun Ho decides to write an autobiography and to publicize his love for Eun Dong in the book in the hopes she will reach out to him. Because he's a busy actor his agency manager hires a ghostwriter, and guess who it is? Eun Dong actress Kim Sa Rang from Secret Garden, of course, with the pen name of Jung Eun. When he speaks to her on the phone for the first time he thinks her voice sounds like Eun Dong's and he tries to get a picture of her, to no avail. He hears she is married and has a child but states to his friend that even if it's true, and she ends up being Eun Dong, that he won't care, he will still pursue her. At this point I was getting ticked off at him. He drives to her condo address and sees that she is indeed his old love Eun Dong, and as he gazes at her from a distance he weeps. As Eun Dong alias Jung Eun organizes Eun Ho's recordings and begins to write his autobiography it starts to trigger her own memories. Through Eun Ho's recordings sent to her cell phone, Jung Eun gets to hear the love story of Hyun Soo and Eun Dong, and feels as if she is listening to her own story, writing her own story, and of course, she is! They finally meet at a restaurant, at which point it's obvious the sparks are already flying between them. As she realizes she is Eun Dong she is shaken to the core - in a park setting when Eun Ho asks her if she loves her husband she says "yes" but soon thereafter seems to have little conflict with the idea of cheating on her disabled husband or hurting her young son by committing adultery with this old love she's hardly spent any time with during her life. By this time I was seriously ticked off with HER! You don't claim to love your husband one moment and the next jump into an old lover's arms. Ergh .... Then the question of which man is the biological father of the child comes up as well. At this point the whole show was becoming distasteful to me. Do the right thing. If you're in love and want to end the marriage to the disabled Jae Ho you do that FIRST and then marry Eun Ho in the proper order and then be intimate. You don't put the cart before the horse and expect me to trust your supposed goodness as people ... nonsense. I probably had a lot more sympathy for the disabled husband than most viewers did because of the underhanded way this script was written, making his grief secondary to their "love". Yes, he wasn't exactly a little innocent in the situation, his actions had kept the couple apart for a decade, but he still was the husband, he still loved the little boy whom he had raised well for ten years and he still loved his wife. The writer was breaking up a family yet expected the majority of viewers to enjoy this "romance"? Sorry. Para encontrar sua amada novamente Hyon-soo Park, agora ator famoso com o nome de Eun-ho Ji, procura por um escritor-fantasma para contar a história de seu primeiro amor na esperança de encontrá-la novamente. Nosso sofrimento começa quando descobrimos que a pessoa responsável por transcrever a história, e quem ouve todos os áudios mandados por Eun-ho Ji é ninguém menos que Jung Eun-seo, seu primeiro amor que, depois de um acidente, acabou perdendo a memória, casou-se e teve um filho com seu atual marido. Me fala se já não é de começar a chorar?! O ponto especial deste drama é a intensidade em que o amor é mostrado, tanto dos protagonistas quanto dos familiares. Temos um relacionamento muito intenso entre Ra-Il, filho de Jung Eun-seo e seu atual marido. Aqui tudo é muito intenso, e também é beeeem lento. O que me leva ao próximo ponto. Cada episódio é uma década e a vilã’ é quase insignificante Um dos pontos negativos a se dizer de My Love Eun-Dong é o tom arrastado que a narrativa toma a partir do momento que somos apresentados para a nova Eun-Dong ou Jung Eun-seo calma que você se acostuma com a mudança dos nomes. Cada episódio tem mais ou menos cinquenta minutos, mas parece muito mais. Entendo que o formato de dramas sul-coreanos é diferente das séries que costumamos assistir na Netflix e talvez seja apenas uma questão de costume, mas meu Deus como demorou para começarem os conflitos de verdade. O segundo ponto é a vilã que resolveram introduzir na história quase que desnecessariamente na minha opinião. A personagem é completamente superficial e o não sabemos o motivo de ela querer estragar a vida de Jung Eun, a não ser o fato de ela mesma ser apaixonada pelo nosso protagonista e não ser amada de volta, o que é um motivo extremamente raso, no mínimo. Ela só é essencial para a trama no momento em que gera uma crise na carreira de seu crush, que acaba refletindo também na vida de Jung Eun e seu filho, mas o tal conflito é resolvido até que rápido. Para cada um desses momentos, obviamente, os atores eram diferentes. Park Jin-young e Lee Ja-in, que interpretam o casal protagonista logo quando se conhecem, foram os que mais me engajaram a história. Apesar a diferença de idade, os dois ficaram adoráveis juntos e me deixaram com um brilho no olhar, o que os outros casais que interpretaram os amantes na fase mais adulta, falharam em fazer. Joo Jin-mo e Kim Sa-rang não são atores ruins, de forma alguma, mas parece que falta alguma coisa entre os dois. Tirando a química que não é tão forte, ambos dão interpretações bem sólidas. No caso de Joo Jin-mo às vezes é até sólida demais, chegando a dar a impressão que, apesar de ter mais de trinta anos, é um moleque mimado que não está acostumado a não ter o que quer. Ao menos o próprio personagem se reconhece como sendo imaturo, às vezes. No geral, é um dorama muito bom, só não é daqueles que você assiste em uma semana, já que tem que investir uma hora de seu tempo por capítulo. Mas você não irá se arrepender 😉
